We made “Ojo de Dios Huichol” (Huichol God’s Eye), a traditional and beloved handicraft made by the Huichol (or Wixáritari) native Mexicans at Kulturhuset i Angered

This workshop was done under Gothenburg kulturnatta and it was super fun to combine these two traditional symbols! And of course, we smashed it, just like we do it in a real party!


Skull piñata workshop at Gardening Association of Gothenburg, October 25th, 2015

As part of the Day of the Dead celebrations in Gothenburg I had the pleasure of giving a workshop for decorating skull-shaped piñatas (calaveritas).

This was a super fun workshop in which we decorated a huge piñata. Although it was prepared for kids, the parents also showed great interest and ended up participating. Everybody helped finish the masterpiece!

And of course, when it was done we filled it with candy and broke it, as it should be at any real party!


 

“Ojo de Dios” workshop at Gothenburg Culture Festival, August 11-13, 2015

The whole world does crafts! We had a great workshop for kids where we taught them how to create an “Ojo de Dios Huichol” (Huichol God’s Eye), a traditional and beloved handicraft made by the Huichol (or Wixáritari) native Mexicans. The workshop was extremely popular, over 1500 kids came to learn how to make their very own Ojo de Dios!

Ta i Hand piñata workshop at Göteborgs Folkhögskola in Biskopsgården, December 16th, 2014.

We made a piñata and decorated it with recycled material.

Ta i Hand is a project in which we attempt to build bridges between people and meeting spaces through handicrafts.

As part of Göteborgs Kulturkalas we gonna transform a normal chair in to a party one! Working together with yarn, sticks and glitter, until the transformation is complete. Come and help!
